A Guide to Searching

You may have noticed the dark search box on the Menu at the top-right of the page. This is to help you find items quickly on the site. Try putting in Bertine and you will find a page with lots of links where his name appears. To get the best possible search results, try these tips:

  • Check spelling - make sure your search words are spelled correctly. The search engine will attempt to find words that are similar to the word you used but, it may be more accurate if you spell the search terms correctly.
  • Use multiple words –  more words for a search will return more refined results than a single word search.
  • Use similar words - the more similar words you use in a search, the more relevant the results will be.
  • Use appropriate capitals – proper nouns such as the name of a person or place often need a capital. Lowercase words will match any words of any case so, Woods if you want just the person but woods if you are happy to have the person and the trees!
  • Use quotation marks around phrases – Use quotation marks to find words that must appear next to each other within a phrase. For example, search for “Small Claims Court” within quotes rather than just Court or Claims.

Happy searching!
