Our blog is now live! The Entwistle Family History Association (EFHA) has a new space to share news, research discoveries and updates with members and anyone interested in Entwistle family history, wherever they are in the world.
What can you expect?
The blog will keep you up to date with what is happening across the association. Planned posts include:
- Announcement of members’ database additions
- AI insights, including analysis of the members’ databases
- Entwistle research updates
- Reconstruction of the Entwistle family tree
- DNA insights to complement genealogical research into the Entwistle family tree, exploring its origins and connections between family branches
- News about EFHA meetings, such as the Annual General Meeting
- General news and announcements
A members’ forum is also planned. Once it launches, members will be able to comment on blog posts there, ask questions and share their own discoveries. We will announce further details when they are available.
Why a blog matters for a worldwide association
Family history research brings people together, but distance and time zones can make it difficult to stay connected. A blog gives our worldwide community a shared place to catch up with news and explore discoveries at a time that suits each reader.
It also gives us a way to share research updates between publications. A newly uncovered record, an addition to a database or a question about a family branch could provide the clue another researcher has been looking for. Sharing these developments can help start conversations and encourage collaboration across borders.
From Lancashire roots to family stories around the globe
The blog offers opportunities to explore both the Lancashire places connected with Entwistle history and the stories of family branches that settled elsewhere. Future features could include local history snapshots, photographs of ancestral places and contributions from members researching their families overseas.
For people researching the Entwistle or Entwisle name, a relevant blog post can also be an introduction to the association. By sharing the questions we are exploring and the resources we are developing, we hope to welcome new readers, contributors and members.
A companion to Twissle Times
Our journal, Twissle Times, is already sent to members electronically. The blog will complement it, not replace it: think of the journal as a place for more detailed articles, and the blog as a public-facing noticeboard for timely news, shorter research highlights and invitations to get involved.
Join us and be part of the story
Are you researching an Entwistle or Entwisle connection, or interested in discovering more about this family’s history? Join the Entwistle Family History Association and become part of our worldwide research community. Membership provides access to additional members-only resources, including our databases, alongside the electronically delivered Twissle Times.
Visit the Entwistle Family History Association website to find out more about membership and how to join. Whether you are beginning your family tree or following a long-standing research question, we invite you to explore the blog, share it with others and help keep our family history connected.
