What is TNG?

W
TNG is currently being set up as our official, searchable family history database, hosted via the Guild of One-Name Studies TNG (The Next Generation) platform. This dynamic database will serve as the central repository for the Entwistle Family History Association (EFHA) birth, baptism, marriage, death and burial datasets. For members it will also link to interconnected records such as media, and other genealogy records.

Why Use Our TNG Platform once it is set up?
    • Comprehensive Variant Searching: Our study tracks the global history of the name and all its historical spellings—including Entwistle, Entwisle, Entwhistle, Antwysell, Antwisel, Hennetwisel, Ennetwysel, and Entwissell. You will be able to search dynamically across all variants by first name, last name, event, or specific place.
    • Interactive Trees & Media: You will be able to move beyond static charts, explore visual pedigree lineages, look up religious establishments where key events took place, including cemeteries, and any associated historical documents, photos, and histories.
    • Guaranteed Preservation: Backed by the Guild’s Members’ Websites Program, our collective research is secure and preserved permanently as a free public legacy resource, ensuring your family lines are never lost.

How to Participate and Enhance Our Research
    • Submit Your Family Tree: Help us expand our shared history! We encourage all members to contribute their family data. You can email your tree as a GEDCOM, spreadsheet, or text document directly to our researcher: Maureen Fisher email

    • Join the Entwistle Y-DNA Project: Run in partnership with FamilyTreeDNA, our surname project groups matching male Y-DNA profiles to map out the branching structure of the Entwistle name.

    • Privacy & Living Individuals: To comply with data protection policies, details regarding living individuals are hidden from public view. EFHA members can request a secure login to view extended branches and access our quarterly Twissle Times newsletter archives.
